[Shincheonji Church SkyPod] Why Was Jesus Called the Greatest Heretic 2,000 Years Ago? – Part 1

Do you know who the four great sages of the world are? They are said to be Jesus, Buddha, Confucius, and Socrates.
Among them, Jesus is believed by many religious people today to be the Son of God, and His teachings are recorded in the New Testament, forming the core of Christian faith.
But did you know that 2,000 years ago, Jesus was considered the greatest heretic and cult leader of His time?
In the recent Shincheonji Church "SkyPot" broadcast, the program focused on the words of Jesus that caused great controversy among the Jews at that time.
Let’s take a look at what made His words so controversial, and what their true meaning was.

The True Meaning of “Eat My Flesh and Drink My Blood”

Imagine someone telling you to eat their flesh and drink their blood. They’d surely be considered insane, right?
Surprisingly, that’s exactly what is written in the Bible—in John chapter 6.

[54] Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. [55] For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
– John 6:54-55 NIV

[51] I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
– John 6:51 NIV

This teaching was extremely difficult to accept—not just for Jews 2,000 years ago, but even for people today.
It’s recorded that even many of Jesus’ disciples turned away and no longer followed Him after hearing this.
So what did Jesus truly mean when He said this?
The answer is found in John 6:63:

[63] The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
– John 6:63 NIV

Jesus was referring to spiritual food that gives life to our souls.

The Message Spiritual Food Gives Us

Just as the body needs physical food to survive, the spirit needs spiritual food—God’s Word—to live.
However, to the Jews of that time, this was a radical idea. They were focused only on physical comfort, but Jesus came to give them spiritual nourishment.
Because He expressed this through the metaphor of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, many misunderstood Him.
We must consider how this applies to us today, in the era of the Second Coming.
Jesus promised to give the Passover meal once again at His return—His flesh and blood, symbolized through bread and wine.
In Revelation, it is also written that through His blood, a kingdom and priests would be freed from sin

[16] For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
[18] For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” [19] And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
– Luke 22:16, 18-19 NIV

[9] And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. [10] You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
– Revelation 5:9-10 NIV

Dear believers living in the era of the fulfillment of the New Testament, let us not repeat the same mistake as the Jews at the First Coming by misunderstanding the true meaning of Jesus’ words.
Have we possibly misunderstood the bread and wine of communion as the true Passover?
Have we mistaken Jesus’ physical blood shed 2,000 years ago as the final act of atonement?
You can rewatch the HeavenPod radio broadcast on YouTube anytime.
I hope you come to understand the true meaning of Jesus’ flesh and blood—and become a true believer in this era.

Hello! As a member of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, I have long sought to deepen my understanding of the Bible. After learning the Word in Shincheonji, I gained clarity on Revelation and the parables in the Bible, which transformed my faith. Recently, I came across the Shincheonji Online Seminar on YouTube and decided to revisit the lectures. Watching these teachings again, I was deeply moved, and I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to truly understand the Bible. Since the seminar covers essential topics, I will be sharing what I learned in a series of posts. In this first entry, I will discuss the meaning of parables and why they are important. 📖 Why Did Jesus Speak in Parables? Many people wonder, "Why did Jesus speak in parables?" At first, I thought they were simply symbolic stories. But through Shincheonji’s teachings, I realized that parables contain God’s hidden plan, which is meant to be understood at the proper time. 🔹 The Reason for Parables In Matthew 13...

[Shincheonji Church SkyPod] The Jesus You Never Knew – EP.3: Did Jesus Really Stop His Disciple from Attending His Father’s Funeral?

Hello, today I’ll be reviewing Episode 3 of Shincheonji Church SkyPod’s “The Jesus You Never Knew” series. What do you think of Ahn Jung-geun, the Korean independence activist? Most Koreans view him as a patriot who gave his life for the greater good and the independence of his nation. However, there are foreigners who, due to a lack of understanding of Korean history and the atrocities of Japanese colonial rule, see him as a violent criminal who murdered an innocent man and even abandoned his own family. Just like how K-Food and K-Culture have spread globally, I believe that if K-History gains more exposure, such misunderstandings will fade.
